What is your position here at Williams Hall Chadwick and how long have you been an accountant?
Manager for Greg Kelly. I've been working for Greg for just over one and a half years but working for WHC for almost three years and I've been an accountant since 1985
What is your philosophy on life?
We were all created by God to ensure that we live our lives without sin and always try to do our best. In this way I try to make sure that whatever I do, whether at work or at home, I perform the task with care and diligence. We are only on earth for a short while and therefore should enjoy our time and do our best to make others enjoy their lives. People that complain all time must be unhappy with their lives, change what you are doing or make changes to the things that make you unhappy.
What is the most valuable experience you have gained in your business roles?
No matter how long you have been doing any role, you never stop learning. You can always learn more from other people within the firm and from clients. Each person has a different view and these views must be considered as they could make the task/role that you are doing easier.
What’s the most challenging aspect of your work?
The constant changing in the tax laws and the ability to keep up with these changes and to ensure that the work prepared is of a high quality.
What drives you professionally and personally?
Professionally – would be to ensure that the client gets the best result, not only saving tax but also minimising costs and maximising profit, this makes a client satisfied and therefore would refer the firm to friends and family.
Personally – to have sufficient wealth to ensure that Sharon, Matthew, Tristan and Kirsten can have the security that they will be well looked after and that every day is a day to be celebrated.
What Public figure, living or dead do you admire the most and why?
F.W. De Klerk – It was through him and Nelson Mandela that apartheid was abolished in South Africa and that South Africa was re admitted back into the sporting and international world. He with Nelson Mandela won the Nobel peace prize in 1993 and they strived to ensure that everyone was treated equally.
What place would you like to visit that you haven’t yet and why?
Victoria Alps in the winter – I would love to wake up in the morning and see snow everywhere, play with the children during the day building snowmen and then sit in front of a fire with Sharon and a glass of port.
