2009 Institute of Chartered Accountants Netball Tournament Winner - by Tanya Hart
Thu Jan 14 2010Every year the Institute of Chartered Accountants sporting days are one where firms from around Brisbane get a chance to show their talents outside of the office.
With one trophy for touch football under our belt for the year, we got together a team to show our talents at mixed netball. We started the day with the hope to bring home a second crown. A solid team who have been competing for the last few years to make the finals at the ICAA netball day. Two from two... that was the question.
Coming first in our pool, and with limited injuries, we headed straight into the finals round. The competition was tough from here on in, with the semi-final score being 10-9 to Williams Hall Chadwick.
But the end was in sight, here was the final. The team shone with determination, breathtaking defense, team work through the centre court and some amazing footwork in the shooters circle to get the double for 2009.
WE DID IT!
From a field of 29 teams from around Brisbane we played eight games - undefeated - to win the final.
Congratulations to the team. What a fantastic group! This year is definitely going to go down in history for Williams Hall Chadwick.
